Basketball Recap: Tularosa Wildcats vs. Santa Rosa Lions

After flying high against Hagerman last Tuesday, Tularosa came back down to earth. The Tularosa Wildcats lost 40-14 to the Santa Rosa Lions on Tuesday. The Wildcats were down 32-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Santa Rosa found their leader in sophomore Danika Madid, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Madid a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakotah Lucero, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

Tularosa has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Santa Rosa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-9.
