Lincoln Prairie Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Noah Wilcoxon Delivers Best Performance of Season

Noah Wilcoxon produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Villa Grove to the win on Friday. Wilcoxon picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.

Cerro Gordo/Bement's probably not too fond of Wilcoxon given he always seems to get the better of them. Wilcoxon picked up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Broncos duked it out back in September of 2023.

Big Game from Herpstreith As Nokomis Fell 26-8

Nolan Herpstreith continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fourth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 100 rushing yards. He rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown.

Herpstreith might have his next game, a road matchup with Sullivan-Okaw Valley/Bethany, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Herpstreith saw Sullivan-Okaw Valley/Bethany), he rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns.

Villa Grove's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Jacob Golightly

Villa Grove's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Jacob Golightly. Golightly produced his best game of the campaign on Friday: he rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown.

For the year, Golightly has run in those 1 touchdown while averaging 15.8 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 3.17 rushing yards per game.

Caleb Bauer Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Sadly, Caleb Bauer posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Nokomis over Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond on Friday. Bauer picked up two sacks and made 11 total tackles. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 5.7 total tackles per game.

For the year, Bauer has averaged 5.7 total tackles per game and for the season has those 2 sacks. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 1.17 total tackles per game.

Fryman Posts Huge Game in 13-10 Win

Aian Fryman's big game helped extend Sullivan-Okaw Valley/Bethany's winning streak to six on Friday. Fryman turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 145 yards. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 139 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Unfortunately for Sangamon Valley/Tri-City, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Fryman. When Fryman last faced the Storm back in September of 2023, he rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 34 receiving yards and a touchdown.
