Baseball Recap: Waynesfield-Goshen's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Waynesfield-Goshen lost against Hardin Northern back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tigers fell just short of the Polar Bears by a score of 6-5.

Jace Kaufman was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.

Kaufman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trenton Faraglia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That hit marked the first that Faraglia got this season.

Waynesfield-Goshen's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3. As for Hardin Northern, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Waynesfield-Goshen is set to take on their familiar foe North Baltimore at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hardin Northern will challenge rival Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Polar Bears 3.3, the Commodores 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
