Basketball Recap: Lincoln County Comes Up Short

Lincoln County lost against Warren County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lincoln County Red Devils fell just short of the Warren County Screaming Devils by a score of 45-43. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Lincoln County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Janiah Norman posted 25 points in addition to seven boards and six blocks. That was a full 58.1% of Lincoln County's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Lincoln County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups.

Courtney Bray continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Warren County, putting up 22 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Bray's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Skyii Wilson, who scored eight points and five boards.

Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Warren County, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Lincoln County has already played their next contest, a 50-39 victory against Lake Oconee Academy on the 17th. As for Warren County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-41 loss against Washington-Wilkes on the 17th.
