Basketball Game Preview: Wachusett Regional Mountaineers vs. Andover Golden Warriors

Wachusett Regional is 0-3 against Andover since March of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Wachusett Regional Mountaineers will face off against the Andover Golden Warriors at 6:00 p.m.

Wachusett Regional is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-45 heartbreaker at the hands of St. John's Prep. That's two games in a row now that the Mountaineers have lost by just one point.

Meanwhile, Andover beat Cambridge Rindge & Latin 58-49 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Warriors.

Andover pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points over those games. As for Wachusett Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

Wachusett Regional might still be hurting after the 66-43 loss they got from Andover in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Wachusett Regional avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
