Football Game Preview: West Orange-Stark Mustangs vs. La Vega Pirates + How To Watch

The West Orange-Stark Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the La Vega Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a eight-game winning streak alive.

West Orange-Stark is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Sealy by a score of 35-28. 35 seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

West Orange-Stark's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khelvy Jefferson led the charge by rushing for 135 yards and three TDs. Jefferson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 135 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Kwalin Dugas, who rushed for 71 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, La Vega humbled La Marque with a 33-6 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pirates' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Cougars are ranked 282nd).

La Vega's defense made their presence known, laying out Deuce Walker five times. La Marque's QB won't forget Jayce Wiley anytime soon given he sacked him three times.

West Orange-Stark's record now sits at 10-3. As for La Vega, their record is now 11-2.

West Orange-Stark might still be hurting after the 44-20 defeat they got from La Vega when the teams last played back in September. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
