Soccer Game Preview: Los Amigos vs. Magnolia

The Los Amigos Lobos will face off against the Magnolia Sentinels at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Los Amigos' last seven games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Magnolia heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Los Amigos took over last week. Los Amigos narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Santa Ana Valley 2-1. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Falcons are ranked 606th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Erubey Bermudez and Jafet Ponce scored both of Los Amigos' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, Magnolia kept a clean sheet against La Habra back in December of 2024. They blew past the Highlanders 4-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sentinels.

Magnolia now has a winning record of 2-1-3. As for Los Amigos, they pushed their record up to 7-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
