Recap: Normangee Panthers vs. Wells Pirates
The Normangee Panthers were the 54-35 winner over the Wells Pirates when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Normangee took a 65-51 bruising from Wells on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Normangee came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Wells is ranked 1206th).
Normangee's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Kirven, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. The contest was Kirven's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dallas Jones, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds.
Normangee's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Wells, their win bumped their record up to 1-6.
Normangee will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cushing at 2:40 p.m. on December 1st. As for Wells, they will take on Centerville at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
