Basketball Game Preview: Valley View Eagles vs. Rancho Christian Eagles

The Valley View Eagles will face off against the Rancho Christian Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley View has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 27.

Last Thursday, Valley View came up short against Hillcrest and fell 55-47. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 992nd, while the Trojans are ranked 298th).

Despite their defeat, Valley View saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kenneth Hutchinson, who went 6 for 14 en route to 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Davion Moore, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Rancho Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 76-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rancho Buena Vista.

Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Rancho Christian, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-11.

Valley View was taken down by Rancho Christian 79-19 in their previous matchup on January 9th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Valley View was down 46-16.
