Softball Recap: Gautier Comes Up Short

Gautier fell victim to Vancleave and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 12-0 to the Vancleave Bulldogs. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Gators haven't been shut out since back in February.

Gautier's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 19.7 runs. As for Vancleave, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Coming up, Gautier will look to defend their home field on Friday against St. Martin at 6:30 p.m. Gautier has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Vancleave, they will venture away from home to face off against Stone at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stone will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Vancleave surely won't give up without a fight.
