Basketball Game Preview: The Pinnacle Timberwolves vs. Valley Vikings

The Pinnacle Timberwolves will challenge the Valley Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Pinnacle is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Englewood on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pinnacle came up short against Englewood, falling 56-30. The game marked the Timberwolves' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Valley fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 62-57 win over Brush on Wednesday.

Valley's win came from a few key players The Pinnacle will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Daniel Guerrero, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Woolverton, who went 7 of 12 en route to 17 points and three steals.

Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for The Pinnacle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
