Soccer Recap: Gilbert Takes a Loss

If Gilbert was feeling good fresh off their 5-1 takedown of Airport last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians lost 6-1 to the South Aiken Thoroughbreds on Friday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Gilbert were already down 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Cade Hopp, who's now up to six this season.

Gilbert has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-2 record this season. As for South Aiken, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilbert will head out to challenge Pelion at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Aiken, they will venture away from home to square off against Aiken at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. South Aiken are facing Aiken at the right time seeing as Aiken are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
