Royal gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Ventura Cougars. For the Highlanders, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 25-17.

Ventura's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Royal is taking a road trip to challenge Thousand Oaks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ventura, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Saugus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
