Baseball Recap: Benton Central Takes a Loss

Benton Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Parke Heritage Wolves.

Benton Central got a good showing from Mason Schutter, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Benton Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Fox, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Benton Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Parke Heritage, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-8.

Looking ahead, Benton Central will take on Seeger at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Parke Heritage, they will square off against North Putnam at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
