The South Summit Wildcats will challenge the Manti Templars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Summit is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64 points per game this season.
South Summit is headed into Saturday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They fell 61-51 to Union on Friday. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 11-7 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, South Summit got top-tier performance from Logan Woolstenhulme, who posted 26 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Woolstenhulme has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 21 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Reber, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Manti came up short against Delta on Friday and fell 68-60. That's two games in a row now that the Templars have lost by exactly eight points.
South Summit will have to keep a close watch on Dax Anderson and Carter Mason, a pair of players who had a big impact on Manti's prior game. Anderson went 8 for 17 to rack up 25 points and three steals, while Mason almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine assists. Coby Rasmussen was another key player, putting up six points.
Even though they lost, Manti was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delta only racked up eight assists.
Manti's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for South Summit, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: South Summit has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Manti struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
South Summit skirted past Manti 59-56 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Does South Summit have another victory up their sleeve, or will Manti turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
