Basketball Recap: Kellen Whitaker Key Part of Team Effort in 'Gators Win

Reservoir won the last time they faced Guilford Park and things went their way on Wednesday too. The 'Gators skirted past the Panther 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the 'Gators have posted since February 3rd.

Reservoir's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kellen Whitaker led the charge by shooting 4-for-4 from long range and dropping a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kai Lewis, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 15 points and four steals.

The win got Reservoir back to even at 1-1. As for Guilford Park, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reservoir will be home for the holidays to greet Winters Mill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Guilford Park, they will host Long Reach at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
