Basketball Recap: Christian Educational Consortium Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Wednesday. Christian Educational Consortium were dealt a 62-21 defeat at the hands of South Guilford HomeSchool. If Christian Educational Consortium was looking for revenge after losing 50-26 to South Guilford HomeSchool when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jenna Wyndham was Christian Educational Consortium's leading scorer, having posted 13 points. Ainsley Balzer held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

South Guilford HomeSchool got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isa Bosch out in front who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Bosch is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kourtney Bullins, who earned 21 points along with five boards and three steals.

Christian Educational Consortium is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-20. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 34-4.

Coming up, Christian Educational Consortium won't have much time to rest: their next match is against FAITH HomeSchool at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-23 win against Bluegrass United on the 5th.
