Soccer Recap: Athens Comes Up Short

Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tanner Rattlers. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rattlers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Tanner, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Athens face off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tanner has already played their next contest (against Elkmont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
