Recap: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. Charlotte Catholic Cougars
The Central Cabarrus Vikings put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Charlotte Catholic 85-56 on the road. Considering Central Cabarrus has won ten matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Cabarrus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Desmond Kent Jr., who scored 21 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The game was Kent Jr.'s 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Daniel, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six steals.
Central Cabarrus' victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Charlotte Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Cabarrus and Northwest Cabarrus will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northwest Cabarrus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Central Cabarrus is ranked tenth). As for Charlotte Catholic, they will be playing at home against Garinger at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
