Basketball Recap: Trico Comes Up Short

Trico lost against Goreville back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trico Pioneers took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goreville Blackcats. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while the Blackcats are ranked 109th).

Trico's loss dropped their record down to 9-21. As for Goreville, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-3.

Trico does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Goreville, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Vienna at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
