League recap: Andrews rises, Robbinsville falls in league standings

1A Smoky Mountain - Big league recap: 3/13/13

Andrews made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from seventh to third place in 1A Smoky Mountain - Big thanks to a 1-1 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Robbinsville fell hardest in the standings, dropping from third all the way to sixth place after going 0-1 in the past week. Murphy (1-0, 1-0) is the No. 1 team in the league.

This week saw the Bulldogs come away with the most league victories in the league, with one. Murphy beat the Black Knights 18-0.

The Tigers' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only three hits and three walks, both of which led the league.

There were three hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. Leading the pack was Cam Dotson, who hit .750 by going 3-for-4.

Cam Dotson drove in four runs for Rosman over the past seven days. He has five RBIs this season, tops in the league.



Chase Hardin struck out eight in the Wildcats' 7-5 win over Cherokee on March 8. Over his four innings pitched he allowed five runs on four hits.
