Basketball Recap: Fort Chiswell Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brayden Billings and Owen Jackson

Fort Chiswell lost against Pulaski County back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Fort Chiswell Pioneers fell just short of the Pulaski County Cougars by a score of 56-53. The match marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Fort Chiswell's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Owen Jackson, who went 10 of 17 on his way to 28 points and eight boards, and Brayden Billings, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. The contest was Jackson's sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Fort Chiswell's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Pulaski County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season.

Fort Chiswell will welcome Radford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pulaski County, they will host Hidden Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hidden Valley has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 182 points over their last three matchups.
