Softball Game Preview: Family Christian Flames vs. Thibodaux Tigers

The Family Christian Flames will head out to challenge the Thibodaux Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Family Christian has given up an average of 21.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Tuesday, Family Christian came up short against North Iberville and fell 34-31.

Meanwhile, Thibodaux came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged out the Swamp Owls 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since March 5th.

Thibodaux pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Family Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Family Christian suffered a grim 24-0 defeat to Thibodaux when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Flames avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
