Volleyball Recap: Howell Vikings vs. Liberty Eagles
Howell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Eagles. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Howell started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-17, 28-26, 29-27.
Despite the loss, Howell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grace Seaman had 15 assists and five digs. Ali Thuet also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Howell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season.
Howell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Parkway West on the 19th. As for Liberty, they will venture away from home to challenge Troy-Buchanan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
