Baseball Recap: Hale Ray Comes Up Short

After flying high against Academy of Aerospace and Engineering on Wednesday, Hale Ray came back down to earth. The Noises lost 10-4 to the Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils on Friday. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Noises who fell 6-4 when the teams previously met back in May of 2024.

Hale Ray saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was August Riccio, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Austin Laban was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hale Ray has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Coginchaug Regional, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Hale Ray wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Bolton on the 19th. Coginchaug Regional has also already played their next contest (against East Haven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
