Baseball Recap: Shannon Comes Up Short

If Shannon was feeling good fresh off their 14-2 takedown of Houlka last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Shannon Red Raiders took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amory Panthers on Tuesday. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Shannon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Amory, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-8.

While Shannon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
