It was a good run, but Ryle unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Simon Kenton Pioneers. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Raiders, who until this match were averaging 3.55 runs allowed.

Emily Gehring was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Kiley Patterson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Ryle's loss dropped their record down to 8-2-1. As for Simon Kenton, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ryle will challenge Milan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Simon Kenton, they will face off against South Oldham at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
