Football Recap: Wake Forest Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Wakefield last Friday, Wake Forest came back down to earth. The Cougars fell 20-7 to the Hillside Hornets on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 13-10 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Landen Perry threw for 31 yards and one TD. On the ground, Micah Olu rushed for 73 yards.

Wake Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hillside, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Wake Forest and Hillside will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Cougars see the field they'll take on Vance County at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Hillside, their break will end when they face Riverside-Durham at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
