The Padua Franciscan Bruins will take on the Holy Name Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Padua Franciscan lost 3-0 to Elyria Catholic on Tuesday. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
While Padua Franciscan was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Padua Franciscan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Giulia Reginelli had 14 digs and six assists. Reginelli is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Meanwhile, Holy Name came up short against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Green Wave haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Holy Name started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-14, 26-24, 25-15.
Padua Franciscan will have to contain Hayden Wells as she made an impact in Holy Name's last game. She had 22 digs and five assists. Skylar Chmielewski also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Padua Franciscan's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Holy Name, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Padua Franciscan took their victory against Holy Name in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Wave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
