Softball Recap: Jefferson West Takes a Loss

Jefferson West has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.85 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 12-2 to the Holton Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 22, 2024.

Megan Malone was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Jefferson West and nudges their season record down to 16-4. As for Holton, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Coming up, Jefferson West will square off against Nemaha Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Holton will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' matchup: after the Tigers face off against the Thunder, they'll take on Holton again at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
