Basketball Recap: Bryce Kankam's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Innovation Academy over Mystic Valley Regional

Innovation Academy lost against Mystic Valley Regional last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk lost to the Mystic Valley Regional Eagles on the road by a 92-76 margin.

Innovation Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bryce Kankam, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. Kankam has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Logan Barnes was another key player, going 9 of 14 on his way to 21 points and three steals.

Dalton Kinnon was his usual excellent self, putting up 23 points for Mystic Valley Regional.

Innovation Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Mystic Valley Regional, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Innovation Academy will square off against Prospect Hill Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Innovation Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. As for Mystic Valley Regional, they will take on Pioneer Charter School of Science at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
