Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is Fairview's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Fairview rose to the challenge on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Sharon a 5-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Fairview has won by exactly five runs.

Tyler Benford was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Luke Rzodkiewicz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Fairview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Sharon, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.

Coming up, Fairview will face off against Titusville at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Sharon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
