Softball Recap: Orestimba Snags Tenth Victory in Last 13 Games

Orestimba won the last time they faced Sonora and things went their way on Friday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sophia Machado was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Belany Martens, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Orestimba was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Orestimba is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Sonora, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
