While Berkeley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They won by a run and slipped past the Alameda Hornets 2-1. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Quinton Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Berkeley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miles Mino, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Berkeley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Berkeley's win bumped their record up to 9-1-1. As for Alameda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Berkeley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-5 victory against Mira Mesa on the 30th. As for Alameda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 5-1 win against California on the 3rd.
