South Garland scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Lakeview Centennial Patriots by a score of 23-21. The Titans have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Brenda Blanco was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Cruz, who scored two runs while going 5-for-6.

South Garland's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Lakeview Centennial, their victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-15.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. South Garland will challenge rival Wylie East at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lakeview Centennial is set to face off against their familiar foe Naaman Forest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
