Penncrest posted their closest win since May 20, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Fightin' Tigers back in March, they had to take a 6-5 loss.
Lucas Punzo was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Penncrest's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Marple Newtown, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.
