Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clarke Central). They blew past the Apalachee Wildcats 38-0 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Gladiators' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Wildcats are ranked 307th).

Clarke Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nuhsi Valenti, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of scores.

Another reason for the win was Clarke Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 6.5 sacks. Leading the way was Dream Freeman with two. He has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Clarke Central received some extra help from Zailyn Wise, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Clarke Central moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Apalachee, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
