Softball Game Preview: Shekinah Christian Flames vs. Northside Christian Lions

The Shekinah Christian Flames will face off against the Northside Christian Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses dating back to last season for Shekinah Christian and three for Northside Christian.

Shekinah Christian lost 12-2 to Madison Christian on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Northside Christian came up short against Delaware Christian on Thursday, falling 24-6.

Ana Hundley and Amelia Golden stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hundley got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two RBI, while Golden went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. Golden is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Sofia Stafford, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Northside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Shekinah Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Shekinah Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Northside Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
