Recap: Northwest Guilford Vikings vs. Orange Panthers

The Northwest Guilford Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season. They ended the year with a bang, routing Orange 48-27. The victory was familiar territory for Northwest Guilford who now have three in a row.

Despite the loss, Orange still got an impressive performance from Evelyn George, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. George scored a full 44.4% of Orange's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Orange struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Guilford won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Southeast Alamance at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Southeast Alamance is ranked 111th, while Northwest Guilford is ranked 108th). Orange won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Athens Drive at 12:30 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Athens Drive focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
