It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact R.J. Reynolds can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 28-27 to the West Cabarrus Wolverines. The Demons' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

R.J. Reynolds lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Antonio Samuels, who picked up 160 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 30 yards and one touchdown. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 95 yards. Tommy Elrod was another key player, having thrown for 325 yards and three touchdowns.

R.J. Reynolds' defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for West Cabarrus, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
