Softball Recap: Casa Grande Wins Going Away Against Catalina Foothills

Casa Grande won against Buena on Monday with 19 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Catalina Foothills Falcons with a sharp 19-2 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.

Khiyah Barnett looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Adyson McClintic was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trinity Diaz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles.

Casa Grande kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Casa Grande's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-7. As for Catalina Foothills, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Casa Grande is set to face off against their familiar foe Maricopa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Catalina Foothills will challenge rival Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
