Softball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends North Posey's Winning Streak

After a string of eight wins, North Posey's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Boonville Pioneers by a score of 5-4. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Pioneers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

North Posey saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Vaughn, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

North Posey's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Boonville, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Posey will host Wood Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.62 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Boonville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Evansville Central at 5:00 p.m.
