Baseball Recap: Jetzel Flores Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Colonial

While Boone's victory against Colonial wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Braves' pitcher stepped up to hand the Grenadiers a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Grenadiers: they've now won seven in a row.

Not much got past Kurtis Harper, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Colonial off the board. Harper also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Boone is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Boone saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jetzel Flores, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those two hits gave Flores a new career-high. Matthew Wuthrich also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Boone's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Colonial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
