Dow actually scored more points across those five sets (111-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-20, 25-27, 27-25, 16-14.
Meanwhile, Powers Catholic got the win against Saginaw on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
Dow's loss dropped their record down to 8-10-3. As for Powers Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 4-8-1.
Dow was able to grind out a solid victory over Powers Catholic in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dow since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
