Basketball Recap: Grafton Clippers vs. Lafayette Rams
Grafton lost against Lafayette back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Grafton Clippers came up short against the Lafayette Rams, falling 64-42. The contest marked the Clippers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Defeat or not, Grafton got some senior leadership from Chase Santiago and Jakobe Brownlee. Santiago went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points, while Brownlee posted 11 points and five rebounds. Eugene Wilke also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Kordell London had a dynamite game for Lafayette, putting up 21 points along with seven boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds London has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Theodor Conradi, who earned seven points in addition to eight boards and three blocks.
Grafton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Lafayette, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Grafton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-49 win against Warhill on the 10th. Lafayette has also already played their next contest, a 47-45 victory against Poquoson on the 10th.
