Softball Game Preview: Boone County Rebels vs. Ryle Raiders

The Boone County Rebels are taking a road trip to face off against the Ryle Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Boone County will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Boone County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Frankfort 18-6 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Ryle fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Milan on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 9-8. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kiley Patterson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Makenna Hirshey also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ryle's loss dropped their record down to 8-3-1. As for Boone County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-12.

Boone County might still be hurting after the 10-1 defeat they got from Ryle when the teams last played on April 2nd. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
