Basketball Recap: Buford Comes Up Short

Buford lost against Andrew Jackson back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Buford Yellow Jackets were beaten by the Andrew Jackson Volunteers 77-16. The Yellow Jackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.

Tamia Watkins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Andrew Jackson, almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine boards. The contest was Watkins' 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ni?Yonna Asbelle, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals.

Buford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Andrew Jackson, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

The future could be bright for both Buford and Andrew Jackson: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently.
