Baseball Recap: Granite City Comes Up Short

Granite City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell 5-1 to the Waterloo Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 9-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Granite City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Brewer, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Granite City's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Waterloo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-9.

Looking ahead, Granite City will face off against Springfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Waterloo, they will take on Columbia in a tournament on Saturday.
