Baseball Recap: Bracken County Polar Bears vs. Holmes Bulldogs

Bracken County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 10-7 to the Holmes Bulldogs. The Polar Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 20-9.

Cole Sharp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Jones, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Bracken County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Holmes, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-21.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bracken County will square off against Bourbon County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holmes, they will take on Calvary Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
