Basketball Recap: Smithson Valley Comes Up Short

Smithson Valley lost against Pieper back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Smithson Valley Rangers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to the Pieper Warriors. That's two games in a row now that the Rangers have lost by just one point.

MAYSON THOMAS continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pieper, going 9 of 13 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was PARKER GOLSCH, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Smithson Valley is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6. As for Pieper, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Smithson Valley will venture away from home to square off against New Braunfels at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pieper, they will host Boerne-Champion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pieper is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season.
